Instagram — the platform that influences all other platforms, it seems — has long since had a Stories feature. Now, I don’t know if Insta was the first platform to have Stories, but they are definitely the aspirational inspiration for every other platform that’s come out with some Stories since then.
Now, FanCentro has Stories, which is super cool! Press material below seems to basically describe a function that’s exactly like Insta Stories — multiple posts to “tell a story,” run for 24 hours then disappear, etc. Differences include the option to set different visibility settings per post (public, followers, subscribers) and the possibility for NSFW content.
FanCentro has stated that anything public must be SFW, but the possibility of having more provocative content on one’s Stories is interesting. Time will tell if FanCentro cracks down on any NSFW Stories that may slip through to Public. That’s something to be mindful of!
This is an interesting new function for FanCentro users. Read on below for more details from the company itself.
FanCentro recently announced the release of their all-new stories feature. The site’s “Stories” function allow influencers to share pictures and videos to their FanCentro page, which only last for 24 hours.
“With our Story function, FanCentro becomes even more of a social network,” said FanCentro VP Kat Revenga. “It’s fun, it’s quick and it has the ability to reach a large audience in a short amount of time. But unlike on mainstream social, you don’t risk deletion for NSFW content.”
Influencers have the option of making their stories public — so, anyone visiting their page can see them — for followers only or for subscribers only. Stories can contain photos or videos (up to one minute long) and multiple items can be posted to their daily Story.
Additionally, influencers have the ability to earn tips on every Story they post.
Influencers have full control who can see each story and can use a mix of public and locked Stories to convert casual visitors into paid subscribers.
“We’ve designed Stories to be major revenue generators for influencers,” Revenga added. “All public stories are safe-for-work and can be seen widely — but to access NSFW content, you have to subscribe.”
Influencers can access the Stories feature right from their dashboard. You can learn more about Stories via FanCentro.
Aren’t you bored of the same old stories? Hungry to see the really intimate side of your favourite influencer? We’ve just launched Stories on FanCentro, where you can find all the things that can’t be posted anywhere else. Hurry, they only last 24 hours. pic.twitter.com/FUydV6I92H
